The project was part of a major 10-year master plan of development, expansion, enhancement and refurbishment of hotels, theme park andinfrastructure at Resorts World Genting.[3][4] It replaced the previous Genting Outdoor Theme Park[5] which was closed on 1 September 2013.[citation needed]
The theme park is 250 acres in size and would feature roughly 25 thrill rides and attractions based on diverse films and franchises like Blue Sky Studios’Ice Age and Rio, Life of Pi, Night at the Museum, Planet of the Apes, Alien vs. Predator, Titanic and Sons of Anarchy.[6][7]
Once expected to open in 2016, the opening was delayed to 2019 reportedly due to the country’s weak currency. However, in 2018, Fox Entertainment terminated their agreement with Genting. On 26 November 2018, Genting Malaysia filed a $1.75 billion lawsuit against Disney and Fox, accusing Fox of trying to back out of the deal for licensing the theme park. In the suit, Genting Malaysia alleges that Fox has taken steps to cancel the contract. The suit also names Disney as a defendant, contending that Disney executives, following the company’s then-pending acquisition of Fox, were ’calling the shots’ on the project and that they were opposed to the park because they would have ’no control’ over its operations and that it would be adjacent to a casino, which would go against Disney’s ’family-friendly’ image.[9] Fox, in turn, referred to the suit as ’without merit’, stating that their reasons for withdrawing from the deal were due to Genting consistently not meeting ’agreed-upon deadlines for several years’ and that Genting’s attempts to blame Disney for Fox’s default were ’made up’.[1]
Fox filed a $46 million countersuit against Genting on January 23, 2019. In the suit Fox stated that the reason for their termination of the project was because of ’Genting alone’, blaming Genting’s ’incompetence, inexperience, and rank indifference to its contractual obligations’ as the reason the project fell through.[10] Fox alleged that Genting changed agreed-upon plans ’at the whim’ of Genting Group chairman Lim Kok Thay and that Genting would construct ’buildings that were too tall for the themed facades constructed to house them, built parade floats that were so large that they left no room on the street for spectators, built an attraction without including the designed (or any) evacuation route, and routinely had to retrofit, if not tear down, its prematurely built structures’.[11] Genting responded by stating that Fox’s countersuit was filed to ’divert attention away from its own incompetence and inexperience’ and went on to say that the company ’will prove that Fox’s termination was both unfounded and improperly directed by Disney and Fox’s parent company, Twenty First Century Fox.’[12]
On July 26, it was announced that Fox and Genting had settled their respective lawsuits. As part of the deal, Genting would be given “a license to use certain Fox intellectual properties” and that non-Fox intellectual property would make up the rest of the attractions in the park. Before the incident could be contained, 37 people lost their lives due to suffocation from toxic fumes resulting from the fire, and 70 others were injured.
The casino’s license was revoked for three weeks but eventually was returned later in the month and part of the casino property subsequently reopened during renovations.

Before construction could begin, a road was first and foremost as this was a previously undeveloped area.

In 1969, the very first foundation stone was laid and from that point, it took two years to complete before the May 1971 launch.
Doors were initially scheduled to open a few months prior but the area was hit with the worst tropical rainstorms in a century and the newly constructed roads suffered significant damage that needed immediate repair.The first hotel, the Highlands (now called the Theme Park), was just the beginning step of a master plan that included a convention center, theme park, golf course, and more hotels.
A cable car system, the Genting Skyway, came in 1997 and transported visitors for the entire two-mile trek up the mountain.
It was not only the world’s fastest mono cable car system traveling at 13 miles per hour, but it’s the longest cable car in Malaysia.
The Genting Highlands is not your typical casino resort. The amenities it provides rival a city rather than a single casino property.
Lim’s hilltop oasis with breathtaking views has something to keep everyone in the family busy for a long time.
Lim may have started with intentions of building a one-hotel resort, but he didn’t stop there.
The Genting Highlands has seven hotels, from the Crockfords elite, the Theme Park Hotel that’s geared toward the younger guests, and the Awana, for the travelers looking for the best view.
The First World Hotel not only includes the second casino but houses a shopping mall, indoor theme park, and a considerable number of dining options.

There’s not one, but two casinos as part of the complex, the Sky Casino, and the Genting Casino.
The gambling is a far cry from 1971 when the resort opened with 30 table games and a selection of one-armed bandits.The original gaming area doubled in size in the 80s and has continued to expand over time, featuring regions themed like Monte Carlo and Hollywood.
In 2004, the second casino was unveiled at the First World Hotel. It provides the latest and best in gaming technology with electronic tables and cashless slots.

Not only do more than 19 million people a year make Genting Highlands their travel destination, but the resort prompted the build of a new nearby township established around the cable car stations.

But Lim Goh Tong again didn’t stop there. His expertise in multiple areas prompted him to expand his Genting organization to cover some relatively diverse markets.

In June of 2017, a gunman burst into the high roller area of Resorts World Manila casino, setting fire to the gaming tables and slot chairs. He then shot his way into the safe room, making off with over $2 million.
Security pursued him, eventually trapping him in a hotel room of the Maxim hotel where Jessie Carlos then took his life to evade capture.
Before the incident could be contained, 37 people lost their lives due to suffocation from toxic fumes resulting from the fire, and 70 others were injured.
The casino’s license was revoked for three weeks but eventually was returned later in the month and part of the casino property subsequently reopened during renovations.
In 2006, the Genting Group acquired Genting UK with 42 properties across the United Kingdom from Edinburgh to Plymouth. The holdings also include London’s Crockfords and Maxims.

Throughout his lifetime, Lim received many accolades including the Malaysian Entrepreneurs Award in 1985 and the Business Achiever of the Year in 1994.
He also earned the number one spot in the top ten Malaysian Leading Company list in 1999.
Lim was given the title of Tan Sri by the Malaysian government when a statue of him was unveiled on his 90th birthday.
Yayasan Lim, the family’s foundation, was established in 1978 to provide regular contributions to medical and educational institutions, senior residences and other charities.
When Lim passed away in 2007, he left behind $4.3 billion, a massive business empire, and a charitable foundation.
His mark on the world will live on through his family as well as the resort complexes that have been providing visitors with entertainment and much-needed relaxation since his first hilltop haven opened its doors in 1971.

This pick-me-up eatery hugs the gaming floor, making it very convenient for a quick munch. Peter’s the traditionalist, so I knew he would have no problem finding his usual ham and Swiss on rye with mustard and a side of slaw, or just about any other classic sandwich. As the adventurous eater, Paul quickly started pondering menu choices that included paninis, pressed Cuban sandwiches, and, huh?…“Pho”? Yes, pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup dish that—according the menu sign—contains brisket, eye round steak, “tendon”, tripe, and beef and tendon meatballs is now being served daily at the deli. And at $10.75, it’s a gastronomic delight.
Deli manager Dino Pappas happenened to be nearby, so we chatted with him about how/what/when/where pho became a menu offering at a Palm Springs Valley casino. He explained that with more and more travelers who are interested in cuisines of the world—not to mention the multitude of Asian visitors to the communities of the Greater Palm Springs Oasis—adding Deli Chef Quan’s favorite dish was a no-brainer. Of course with that, Paul and I were sold. Pho for lunch it was. Poker Deli also offers Korean Oxtail Soup, which was a big hit at a nearby table, as well as delicious Vietnamese Iced Coffee. All these interesting items available in Rancho Mirage? I was impressed!
Our quick break from the slots rejuvenated us and got us revved up and ready to go back to the gaming floor. Now that appetites were sated, it was time to try out the poker tables! www.hotwatercasino.com

The above 3 sets of hands add up to form the common answer of 169 Texas Hold’em starting hands There are actually 1,326 combinations of starting hands if you count suits (e.g. A♣- A♦ and A♠- A♥ are different hands), but that is more of a “just for fun” number as suits have no value over each other in Texas Hold’em. Poker Starting Hand Chart (6-max Cash, 100bb): Hand Chart Notation Getting to know which hands to play and in which positions is even more important than the actual hand. This 6-max Cash Hand Chart details the hands you should play and the position. So, those are the enhanced Sklasky Texas Holdem poker starting hand tables. The later your position at the table (dealer is latest position, small blind is earliest), the more starting hands you.
Below, I have categorized thirteen types of starting hands, in order of their value. The statistics are borrowed from www.pokalyzer.com which has ran 700 billion simulated hands to produce their results.
1. High Pairs (80%ers)
A high pair is a pair of Aces, Kings, or Queens. Some people count Jacks as high pairs, but I do not as they are not statistically matched to the value of other high pairs. My advice is Raise Pre-Flop and drive the garbage out. If you are in a late position, then you do not need to raise if someone else has driven out the garbage for you. However, if you are in the blind and someone else has raised, you might want to re-raise in order to increase the size of the pot from one more round of betting, and to drive out someone like a small blind who may have limped in with a mediocre hand. Whatever you do, DO NOT limp in with a high pair. If you fail to raise above the big blind and get beat by someone with a suited non-connector, it will be your own fault. If no one else has raised, it is your job to do so in every case.
These are legitimately the best hands in poker, so rather than jam the pot and re-raise pre-flop you should probably just call the raise, or slow-bet. If someone else has raised ahead of you, the garbage will be cleared and you can wait till the flop to reveal a betting strategy. If you flop a King and Ace, and you are holding two King, you will be in the driver’s seat and no one will know what hit them.
ODDS: You are going to land any given pair every 220 hands you play, so a pocket pair of aces is extremely rare. Assuming you play 100 hands a night, it will only happen every other night. The chance of landing one of the high pairs, however, is once in every 73 hands, so it should happen to you once every evening. Don’t lose out on that opportunity. 2. Medium Pairs (70%ers)
A medium pair includes Jacks, Tens, Nines, Eights and Sevens. These are medium pairs because odds are that an overcard will flop more than half of the time. Even though the odds of winning with a pair of Jacks is 77.2%, the chances of having the high pair after the flop are only 43%. You are hoping for trips so, but if you don’t land them, only continue if you have the high pair possible, and then bet high to throw out the single face cards in the hole. Do not be suckered by landing another board pair, giving you two pair. Either someone else has trips or someone with a face card will get the high pair on the turn or river.

3. Ace-Face Suited (65%ers)
An ace with another face card of the same suit is Ace-High suited, which is a winning hand most of the time. Two suited hole cards only draw to a flush 3% of the time, but if they are both high, you have a great shot at winning high pair as well. Because you hold the ace, any draw to a straight is a close-end straight, so your odds are lower than an open-end straight.

An Ace plus a face card of another suit are the most frequently played hands in Hold ’em. Most people stay in and raise with this hand. If you pair the face card, you will have the high kicker, and if you pair the ace, you will probably have a higher kicker than anyone else. 5. Ace-Low Suited (60%ers)
An ace with anything 10 or lower in the same suit. This is not a hand to go heads up against someone with. This is best played in late position with a lot of callers already in the pot, giving you higher pot odds for a flush draw. This is also a good hand for stealing the blinds if you are on the button, because at least you have one ace in the hole. Mostly, though, I like to play this hand only in No Limit Hold’em because I may need to stay in to the river to get my cards, and I want to be able to go all-in and make a big score if I have the high flush. Earning a minor pot on such low odds just doesn’t make as much sense.
POT ODDS: While the chances of winning against random hands are respectable, the chances of winning in heads-up play are not. Two suited pocket cards will flop a flush less than 1% of the time, and complete a flush by the river 6.52% of the time, and two separated cards (such as A5) will hit a draw will hit a draw only about 0.06% of the time. The probability of making a flush, therefore, is 15 to 1 against, meaning that you should really only enter the pot if there are 15 other players in, which never happens, so playing these cards with any regularity is a losing proposition.
If you are on the button, and the flop is cheap, and you do go with Ace-Low suited, then you should fold unless you immediately receive either two cards that match your hole cards or a four flush. The probability of flopping a four-flush is 8.1/1 or 10.9%, and the possibility of completing the flush by the river is 1.9/1 or 35%. When betting on the turn hoping for flush, you really want at least three people in the pot, or enough money for three in the pot. 6. Face-Face Offsuit (58%)
Two face cards are best used when drawing to a straight, so you want to get into the flop as cheaply as possible. If your high card is a King, you will flop an Ace 23% of the time, and if your highest is a queen, a higher card will flop 41% of the time. 7. Low Pairs (55%ers)
Low pairs are sixes or lower. All low pairs are questionable investments at best. If you all you have are have sixes, the chances are that someone will flop a higher pair 95% of the time. If you have a low pair and you flop a open-end straight draw, stay in, because you own TWO of the hole cards needed for the straight, lowering the odds that you will have to split the pot.
ODDS: You are going to land a pocket pair about once every 16 hands so don’t get too excited about the lower pairs. Half the time, your pocket pairs will be high or medium pairs. Stick to those.
POT ODDS: Some people play low pairs in late position hoping to see trips, which is also the hope for higher pairs. If you take a pocket pair to the river, you have a 4.2/1 (19%) chance of making a set or better, so NEVER put money in the pot with this hand unless there are at least five other players. However, I don’t bet on low pairs EVER, because it is more likely that someone else will take a straight or a flush or higher trips or a full house to the river and beat my low trips. With low pairs, I would never want to stay in unless I saw trips on the flop, and the chances of that are 7.5/1 (or 11.8%) so I would need 9 other people in the pot to make money, which is a very rare occurrence. 8. King Flush Draw (55%ers)
A king plus another card in the same suit is a dangerous hand, unless the Ace is on the board, which will happen one-third of the time that you draw to a flush. These cards should be considered the same value as low pairs, except with a low pair, at least you know if you have trips on the flop. With a King Flush draw, you could have the ace on the flop, and still not get the flush on fifth street, so this is a potentially costly hand. See the section on ’Sucker Hands’ for more info. 9. Ace-Low Offsuit (55%ers)
An Ace plus a non-suited card lower than a face card is one of the biggest losers in Hold’em. Most players stay in with any ace, especially if you are playing with less than 10 at a table. However, I routinely fold this hand because 75% of the time, with 20 cards dealt into the pocket, someone else is ALSO holding an Ace in the pocket, and more often than not, their kicker will be higher than yours. 10. Suited Connectors (45%ers)
Two suited cards next to each other are only slightly better than non-suited connectors because they help with the straight flush. If you draw to a flush or a straight ONLY, however, you are in serious risk of losing to larger straights or flushes. Don’t get too excited about these cards because they share the same suit. The flush draw potential only increases your chances of winning by 3%. I generally fold all suited connectors, occasionally keeping a QJ or JT if I am in late position and several players are in and none have raised. If, after the flop, your hole card is at the low end of the straight, this is a classic ’Sucker Hand.’ I know of some good players who love suited connectors, however, because they know on the flop if they have a killer hand, and a further investment will not be required. My attitude is that if you love suited connectors pre-flop, you might as well get equally excited about any low straight draw.
ODDS: You will receive a suited connector once every 46 hands (or 2.1% of the time), and this is so rare, that people tend to jump for joy whenever it happens, not thinking that the changes of getting a 2-4 are even worse. 11. Low Straight Draw (42%ers)
Two cards of different suits next to each other in value are going for a straight draw, and they are 3% less likely to win than the comparable suited connectors. Like suited connectors, only stay in if the pot is big because there are lots of other players calling pre-flop. Two low cards not in order is a Trash hand, and is not a Low Straight draw even if they are separated by only one card. 13. Trash Hands
Everything not mentioned above is a trash hand (as are some of the hands above, in my opinion), and there is no coincidence that these are in unlucky category 13. The only reason anyone stays in with these hands is that the flop was so cheap that the couldn’t say no, such as being in the big blind with no raises. If you get a trash hand, and you are in the small blind, only consider calling if everyone else has and if you are sure that the person in the big blind won’t raise you.Table Of Contents
If you watch a lot of poker on Twitch or on television, you’ve probably noticed how most no-limit hold’em hands are contested heads-up after the flop.
A player opens with a raise, another calls, then it’s just the two of them battling for the pot thereafter.
The same is true if you happen to rail online poker games involving better poker players, such as the biggest poker tournaments and Sunday majors.
Unlike perhaps is the case in many poker games with friends and also lower-limit live games, there’s often going to be just two players left by the time the community cards arrive.
In heads-up situations, it’s obvious enough to point out that one player will be ’in position’ postflop and get to act last on all streets while the other will be ’out of position’ and have to act first.
If you weren’t paying attention, you might assume players spend about half their hands playing from out of position and half playing in position — but that would be wrong.
The truth is, most good players play the majority of their hands in position — by a lot, in fact.
That’s because when it comes to starting poker hand selection, good players tend to fold more hands when they would be forced to play from out of position and to get involved more frequently when they can have position.
They do so because they know there are many advantages to having position on an opponent after the flop.Positions in Poker
The seats around a no-limit Texas hold’em table are usually described as being:
*early position
*middle position
*late position
The location of the button and blinds determines each.
’Early position’ (EP) usually refers to the players having to post both the small blind (SB) and big blind (BB), as well as the player sitting to the big blind’s left.

At a nine- or ten-handed table, the next seat (UTG+1) might also be considered early position, given that most of the table is in later positions, relatively speaking.
Note by the way that even though the SB and BB act last preflop — after the UTG player and everyone else around to the button — those are considered early position seats since they’ll be acting first every betting round after the flop.
’Middle position’ (MP) usually refers to the next couple or three seats at the table, leading up to the last two or three seats culminating with the button.
That leaves ’late position’ (LP) seats that include the button (the latest position), the cutoff (the seat to the right of the button), and the hijack seat (the seat to the right of the cutoff).
Of course, in short-handed games (e.g., 6-max.) the hijack would probably be better designated middle position.

As noted, the best no-limit hold’em players generally choose to play most of their hands from late position, fewer from middle position, and least from early position.
Not coincidentally, they also win most of their money playing from later position, with even the best hold’em players tending to be net losers when playing from early position.
Here’s a quick list of five reasons why positioning in poker is so important and playing in position is preferable in no-limit hold’em:1. More free cards
There are times when playing drawing hands when you’d rather not pay the price to get to the next postflop street.
When you have position on your opponent, you have the opportunity to take a ’free card’ if your opponent checks to you while you are on a draw, checking behind to see the next community card.
Say you decided to play suited connectors and have on a flop.
Your opponent who has to act first decides to check.
You could bet, but you can also check behind and take a ’free card’ to see if you can complete your flush.
If you were first to act, though, you have no assurance when you check that your opponent won’t bet and make you pay to stick around in the hand.

Acting last on every postflop street usually helps you control how big or small of a pot you end up playing.
If you wish to play a small pot and an opponent checks, you can check behind, and if your opponent bets you can just call and close the action.
If you want to play a bigger pot, you can bet or raise when the action is on you.
When out of position, you can’t check and be sure your opponent will check and let you see the next card for free. Nor can you bet and be sure your opponent will fold or only call you (thus keeping the pot small). 3. More bluffing opportunities
Having position on an opponent is so valuable, it can often make up for having a relatively weak hand.
In other words, your literal hand strength may be weak, but by getting to act last you have a lot more leverage when trying to represent stronger poker hands.

There is 1,500 in the middle and the first player leads with a bet of 500. With your open-ended straight draw you’d like to call and see the turn.
If you were last to act, you’d know for certain what your immediate pot odds were — you’re trying to win 2,000 and need only call 500, so your pot odds are 4-to-1.
With players still to act behind you, you can’t make this calculation.
You don’t know if the other two players will just call also (making your pot odds even better), or if one might raise and force you to pay even more to stick around (making your pot odds potentially much worse).

If you have a low pair and you flop a open-end straight draw, stay in, because you own TWO of the hole cards needed for the straight, lowering the odds that you will have to split the pot.
ODDS: You are going to land a pocket pair about once every 16 hands so don’t get too excited about the lower pairs. Half the time, your pocket pairs will be high or medium pairs. Stick to those.
POT ODDS: Some people play low pairs in late position hoping to see trips, which is also the hope for higher pairs. If you take a pocket pair to the river, you have a 4.2/1 (19%) chance of making a set or better, so NEVER put money in the pot with this hand unless there are at least five other players. However, I don’t bet on low pairs EVER, because it is more likely that someone else will take a straight or a flush or higher trips or a full house to the river and beat my low trips. With low pairs, I would never want to stay in unless I saw trips on the flop, and the chances of that are 7.5/1 (or 11.8%) so I would need 9 other people in the pot to make money, which is a very rare occurrence. 8. King Flush Draw (55%ers)
A king plus another card in the same suit is a dangerous hand, unless the Ace is on the board, which will happen one-third of the time that you draw to a flush. These cards should be considered the same value as low pairs, except with a low pair, at least you know if you have trips on the flop. With a King Flush draw, you could have the ace on the flop, and still not get the flush on fifth street, so this is a potentially costly hand. See the section on ’Sucker Hands’ for more info. 9. Ace-Low Offsuit (55%ers)
An Ace plus a non-suited card lower than a face card is one of the biggest losers in Hold’em. Most players stay in with any ace, especially if you are playing with less than 10 at a table. However, I routinely fold this hand because 75% of the time, with 20 cards dealt into the pocket, someone else is ALSO holding an Ace in the pocket, and more often than not, their kicker will be higher than yours. 10. Suited Connectors (45%ers)
Two suited cards next to each other are only slightly better than non-suited connectors because they help with the straight flush. If you draw to a flush or a straight ONLY, however, you are in serious risk of losing to larger straights or flushes. Don’t get too excited about these cards because they share the same suit. The flush draw potential only increases your chances of winning by 3%. I generally fold all suited connectors, occasionally keeping a QJ or JT if I am in late position and several players are in and none have raised. If, after the flop, your hole card is at the low end of the straight, this is a classic ’Sucker Hand.’ I know of some good players who love suited connectors, however, because they know on the flop if they have a killer hand, and a further investment will not be required. My attitude is that if you love suited connectors pre-flop, you might as well get equally excited about any low straight draw.
ODDS: You will receive a suited connector once every 46 hands (or 2.1% of the time), and this is so rare, that people tend to jump for joy whenever it happens, not thinking that the changes of getting a 2-4 are even worse. 11. Low Straight Draw (42%ers)
Two cards of different suits next to each other in value are going for a straight draw, and they are 3% less likely to win than the comparable suited connectors. Like suited connectors, only stay in if the pot is big because there are lots of other players calling pre-flop. Two low cards not in order is a Trash hand, and is not a Low Straight draw even if they are separated by only one card. 13. Trash Hands
Everything not mentioned above is a trash hand (as are some of the hands above, in my opinion), and there is no coincidence that these are in unlucky category 13. The only reason anyone stays in with these hands is that the flop was so cheap that the couldn’t say no, such as being in the big blind with no raises. If you get a trash hand, and you are in the small blind, only consider calling if everyone else has and if you are sure that the person in the big blind won’t raise you.Table Of Contents
If you watch a lot of poker on Twitch or on television, you’ve probably noticed how most no-limit hold’em hands are contested heads-up after the flop.
A player opens with a raise, another calls, then it’s just the two of them battling for the pot thereafter.
The same is true if you happen to rail online poker games involving better poker players, such as the biggest poker tournaments and Sunday majors.
Unlike perhaps is the case in many poker games with friends and also lower-limit live games, there’s often going to be just two players left by the time the community cards arrive.
In heads-up situations, it’s obvious enough to point out that one player will be ’in position’ postflop and get to act last on all streets while the other will be ’out of position’ and have to act first.
If you weren’t paying attention, you might assume players spend about half their hands playing from out of position and half playing in position — but that would be wrong.
The truth is, most good players play the majority of their hands in position — by a lot, in fact.
That’s because when it comes to starting poker hand selection, good players tend to fold more hands when they would be forced to play from out of position and to get involved more frequently when they can have position.
They do so because they know there are many advantages to having position on an opponent after the flop.Positions in Poker
The seats around a no-limit Texas hold’em table are usually described as being:
*early position
*middle position
*late position
The location of the button and blinds determines each.
’Early position’ (EP) usually refers to the players having to post both the small blind (SB) and big blind (BB), as well as the player sitting to the big blind’s left.

At a nine- or ten-handed table, the next seat (UTG+1) might also be considered early position, given that most of the table is in later positions, relatively speaking.
Note by the way that even though the SB and BB act last preflop — after the UTG player and everyone else around to the button — those are considered early position seats since they’ll be acting first every betting round after the flop.
’Middle position’ (MP) usually refers to the next couple or three seats at the table, leading up to the last two or three seats culminating with the button.
That leaves ’late position’ (LP) seats that include the button (the latest position), the cutoff (the seat to the right of the button), and the hijack seat (the seat to the right of the cutoff).
Of course, in short-handed games (e.g., 6-max.) the hijack would probably be better designated middle position.

As noted, the best no-limit hold’em players generally choose to play most of their hands from late position, fewer from middle position, and least from early position.
Not coincidentally, they also win most of their money playing from later position, with even the best hold’em players tending to be net losers when playing from early position.
Here’s a quick list of five reasons why positioning in poker is so important and playing in position is preferable in no-limit hold’em:1. More free cards
There are times when playing drawing hands when you’d rather not pay the price to get to the next postflop street.
When you have position on your opponent, you have the opportunity to take a ’free card’ if your opponent checks to you while you are on a draw, checking behind to see the next community card.
Say you decided to play suited connectors and have on a flop.
Your opponent who has to act first decides to check.
You could bet, but you can also check behind and take a ’free card’ to see if you can complete your flush.
If you were first to act, though, you have no assurance when you check that your opponent won’t bet and make you pay to stick around in the hand.

Acting last on every postflop street usually helps you control how big or small of a pot you end up playing.
If you wish to play a small pot and an opponent checks, you can check behind, and if your opponent bets you can just call and close the action.
If you want to play a bigger pot, you can bet or raise when the action is on you.
When out of position, you can’t check and be sure your opponent will check and let you see the next card for free. Nor can you bet and be sure your opponent will fold or only call you (thus keeping the pot small). 3. More bluffing opportunities
Having position on an opponent is so valuable, it can often make up for having a relatively weak hand.
In other words, your literal hand strength may be weak, but by getting to act last you have a lot more leverage when trying to represent stronger poker hands.

If you bet and your opponent doesn’t have an ace or king (or perhaps a six), you’ll likely earn a fold, thereby making your actual hand strength somewhat irrelevant.

Say you are in a four-way hand holding , the flop comes , and you are second to act.
There is 1,500 in the middle and the first player leads with a bet of 500. With your open-ended straight draw you’d like to call and see the turn.
If you were last to act, you’d know for certain what your immediate pot odds were — you’re trying to win 2,000 and need only call 500, so your pot odds are 4-to-1.
With players still to act behind you, you can’t make this calculation.
You don’t know if the other two players will just call also (making your pot odds even better), or if one might raise and force you to pay even more to stick around (making your pot odds potentially much worse).
If you were in position and acting last, though, you could know precisely what your pot odds were going forward.5. Knowing your opponent’s action

Use of your account may consist of: (a) playing one or more of the games on the Services for Virtual Goods (as defined below); or (b) purchasing Virtual Goods. After your account has been deemed a Dormant Account and has subsequently been dormant for an additional calendar month, your account shall be deemed an “Abandoned Account” and closed at a time solely determined by Company. You have no property rights in any achievements or Virtual Goods. Termination of this Agreement and your Services account for any reason will have no effect on (1) any Rush Rewards points and account You maintain, and (2) any Promotion (as defined below) prizes You have won (other than Virtual Good prizes, which will terminate with your Services account). The Company reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Services (or any part thereof) with or without notice.
